Quieting the Inner Critic: Mastering Your Relationship with Inner Dialog through UM-based Techniques

We all know that voice—the one that begins shouting at us at daybreak, telling us we're lazy for not getting out of bed as soon as the alarm sounds. The same voice says we're incompetent, or far worse, for botching a work presentation or forgetting a friend's birthday. For many of us, our inner critic is a familiar negative narrator who diminishes our fulfillment and distorts our self-perception. In this engaging and informative session, participants will learn UM practices and perspectives to work with their inner critic, gaining insights into how the inner critic functions and how to transform it into an inner mentor.

COMMUNITY TIME - LGBTQIA2S+ Sharing Circle

This specialized session for members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community will be a compassionate space for speaking and listening. We will mindfully share stories, strategies, and concerns about the intersection of mindfulness and LGBTQIA2S+ identity. The emphasis will be on sharing and community connection as well as discussing strategies for maintaining mindfulness during this session and the rest of the week. Love and respect for one another are guiding principles as we co-create a safe and welcoming space for our community.

Enjoying Immersion? Please Donate to the Unified Mindfulness Scholarship Fund.

Your donation transforms lives…and more lives!

When you donate to the Unified Mindfulness Teacher Training fund, 100% goes toward covering tuition for teachers-in-training who need your assistance. Your donation supports not only these individuals, but also the relief, fulfillment, growth, and learning of everyone they teach over the course of their lifetime.
From informal settings, like friends and family, to professional settings, like through retreats or working with private clients, graduates of the Unified Mindfulness Teacher Training programs pass on what they’ve learned so that others—sometimes many others—may benefit deeply!
As you’ve seen, this is the most generous and supportive mindfulness community on the planet. Please give to our scholarship fund so motivated students can deepen their own mindfulness practice, benefit from the teacher training, and offer mindfulness to others so that they may benefit, too.
However much you’re able to offer, the reach of your support may be further than you could ever imagine.

Adverse Reactions...

In the unlikely event that you experience a strong negative reaction during the retreat, you may need support. If you are under professional care, you may need to stop meditation during the retreat and seek out the help of your therapist or doctor. If the negative reaction is more transient, you may need the support of a mindfulness trainer to discuss it. If you need support for a practice-related experience, you can reach out to us at support@unifiedmindfulness.com.
It’s important to note that mindfulness is not a substitute for psychotherapy or other forms of mental healthcare, and this community is not equipped to provide professional mental health support.
