UNIFIED MINDFULNESS CERTIFICATION

Compass (C6) — The Final Step
of Your Unified Mindfulness
Certification

Starts Saturday, September 12, 2026

You Completed Pathways. Here's What That Gave You.

Pathways gave you a turnkey solution. A complete, teachable program. The skills to guide individuals and groups through the See Hear Feel technique and the core UM curriculum.

That's meaningful. Most mindfulness teachers never get that far.

But here's what Pathways didn't give you — and what you may have already started to notice:

Pathways opened the door. Compass is what takes you all the way through.

What Compass Actually Is

Julianna Raye describes it simply: Pathways offers you a turnkey solution. Compass offers you endless possibilities.
That's not a tagline. It's a precise description of what happens over the course of a year.

In Compass, you develop the ability to meet any student or client — in any setting, at any level of experience, with any goal — and respond with precision. Not by following a curriculum. By understanding the underlying mechanics of mindfulness itself so thoroughly that you can adapt to anything.

You learn to unpack a practice report with real skill. You learn to hold the kind of patient, precise attention that draws out what a student is actually experiencing — not what you assume they're experiencing — and then meet them there with exactly the right technique, strategy, or question.

You learn to design your own techniques from the ground up: rigorous, evidence-based, and tailored to your specific population — whether that's corporate leadership, healthcare professionals, or anyone else you're called to serve.

And you walk away designated as a fully certified Unified Mindfulness Trainer/Teacher — eligible for paid roles in the UM community and for one-on-one client referrals.

Compass is, in every sense, the master's level of UM teacher training.

The Two Semesters

Precision and Depth

Semester 1 begins with a Half-Day Empathy Training and is built around one central skill: the ability to truly hear what a student is telling you about their practice experience.

Inner experience is hard to articulate. Most conversations — even between experienced practitioners — move too quickly to get to what's actually happening. Compass slows that down. You learn to draw out a student's report with patience and precision, identify the sensory patterns underlying their experience, and respond in ways that actually meet them where they are.

Each week, you bring your own practice reports to your study group. Through a structured process, you and your cohort unpack each other's reports together. In doing so, you begin to see what's universal across all practice experiences — the patterns that appear again and again, regardless of technique or tradition. That recognition is what allows you to interpret any report you encounter, from any student, with clarity and confidence.

You'll participate in five Half-Day Sessions. In four of them, you'll be paired in a dyad for a personalized, hour-long mentored session. In one, you'll deliver a 20-minute talk. Weekly study group meetings and daily sits round out the semester.

By the end of Semester 1, you'll have a framework for understanding practice experience that most professional mindfulness teachers never develop.

Mastery and Application

Semester 2 takes everything you've built and extends it into the full scope of the UM system.

You'll master ULTRA — the Universal Library for Training Attention — and the Happiness Grid, giving you a comprehensive map of the entire landscape of human experience as it relates to contemplative practice. You'll understand the design principles behind any robust mindfulness technique: what makes a technique rigorous, precise, and evidence-based. And you'll apply those principles yourself, first with an advanced UM technique, then with a technique from another tradition, and finally by creating your own.

You'll also learn to build long-term, one-on-one client relationships — the professional dimensions, the nuances of being client-centered while guiding toward deeper insight, and how to work effectively with clients over time.
Five private mentored sessions give you supported practice in working deeply with a client. A Half-Day Sensory Challenges Workshop rounds out the semester.

Semester 2 closes with a private, one-on-one Assessment — the final step before certification.

What You'll Have When It's Over

Precision with any student or client

No matter how vague, complex, or intense their experience — you'll know how to unpack it, understand it, and respond in a way that actually moves them forward.

The complete Unified Mindfulness system

ULTRA, the Happiness Grid, technique design, long-term client relationships — all of it in one coherent framework.

Julianna Raye, in your corner

Throughout C6, Julianna will lead special one-hour Masterclass sessions for your cohort on a wide range of topics relevant to your work as a trainer. Her presence is one of the things Compass alumni mention most.

Virtually unlimited technique and strategy options

You'll understand the mechanics of mindfulness at a level that lets you adapt, create, and tailor — not just deliver.

A professional designation that opens doors

As a certified UM Trainer/Teacher, you'll be eligible for paid roles in the UM community — including Pathways Support Coach, live class delivery, and day-long retreats — and for direct one-on-one client referrals.

A community that stays with you

Your Compass cohort becomes a lasting professional network — fellow practitioners who share the same precision, the same language, and the same commitment to the work. That connection doesn't end when the program does.

How Compass Compares to Other Certification Programs

There are other mindfulness teacher training programs, and some of them are genuinely excellent. Here's how Compass stacks up:
